Now two of the biggest names in the industry have come together to bring you the Sunflower line from Massey Ferguson.

The 9312 Series Grain Drills are ideal for pastures which require re-seeding due to drought or over grazing because this tough, compact grain drill can handle all of their conventional and no till seeding needs.

For maximum productivity, Sunflower developed the 9413 three-point mounted all purpose grain drill line. The 9413 is one of the only mounted true no-till grain drills on the market.

The 9421 multi-purpose grain drill features a narrow transport width compared to wide, rigid, mounted designs that are difficult to move between fields.

The Sunflower from Massey Ferguson 9435 Grain Drill can be tailored to your operation and be your single source for conventional seeding right through no-til.

Extra Heavy Frames

Heavy duty 3/8" thick 7" x 7" main frames are coupled to a 3/8" thick 3" x 5" opener frame to create a sound foundation for all Sunflower grain drills.

8" of Open Stagger

To allow crop residues to flow through the openers and not gather within. All Sunflower grain drills feature a full 8 inches of front to rear opener stagger.

Seed Box Sight Glass

All seed boxes feature a clear plastic sight glass to view seed level from the tractor seat.

Quick Hand Adjustments

Seed metering rates on each seed box are changed by a simple screw type adjustment.

Pivoting Press Wheels

Competitions Non-Pivoting Press Wheels Plants emerge in the ridge, not under press wheel tracks. Poor and late emergence are the results.

Sunflower from Massey Ferguson Pivoting Press Wheels Precisely follow the opener path and produce a favorable seed to soil contact. Plants emerge under press wheel tracks.

Improved emergence and enhanced yields are the results.

Press Wheels

Sunflower from Massey Ferguson offers five different choices of press wheels to complete your grain drill. The precision cam adjustment allows the single arm swivel type press wheel to be adjusted in 1/4" increments. Adjustments can be made fast and easy, without the use of tools.

2" x 13" smooth or V-crown for no-till conditions or in soils where higher ridges between rows are desired.
3" x 13" center rib, a good all purpose wheel for no-till and conventional seed beds.
3" x 13" double rib, possibly the best all purpose press wheel for no-till and conventionally prepared seed beds.
4" x 12" double rib, most effective in prepared seed beds where opener floatation is required.

Soil Control Devices

With Sunflower from Massey Ferguson patented Soil Control Device, soil is directed back into seed trench and firmed by press wheels. Results are even emergence and improved yields. Soil controlling devices minimize soil blow out from opener blades, both in no-till or conventional seedbeds. Soil controlling devices are made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polymer for prolonged life. UHMW is backed by spring steel to guard against bending.

All-Purpose

Mounts to a 5" x 3" frame with "L" bolts.
Links made of 1/2" thick material.
Parallel Link for better depth control: The press wheel and opener blades stay consistent during travel up or down.
205 bearings in each blade.
Opener Blades: Both smooth 15" diameter, 3.5 mm thick.
Soil Control Device: Minimizes soil blowout from opener blades, both in No-Till or conventional prepared seedbeds. Made of Ultra High Molecular Weight polymer, which wears very long and smooth. It is backed up with a piece of spring steel so it won't take a set bend.
Choice of Press wheels.
Only one grease zerk per opener.
Swivel type Press wheel Arm: Takes side load off of the presswheel during turns or following contours. The press wheel will also follow the trench instead of sliding to the side.
Easy Depth Setting: Each notch is 1/4" in depth. No tools needed for adjustments.
Nitro Tech coated bushing in the pivot points.
Down Pressure Adjustment: No tools needed to make changes. 400 lb. retention springs are able to generate up to 250 lbs. at the opener blades. The row unit itself weighs 90 lbs.
