Engine
120 to 215 Engine HP AGCO Power engines with Electronic Engine Management (EEM) give the MF 6400 Series tractors increased torque across the speed range and more torque reserve, all the way down to 1000 rpm.
AGCO Power engines are wastegate turbo-charged with air-to-air charge cooling. These engines are some of the quietest you've ever experienced-up to 3 decibels quieter than Tier I engines.
All models are equipped with the AGCO Power engine, offering up to 20% more torque. Some of the features that have helped establish their record reliability include:
- Has wet cylinder liners to provide excellent coolant circulation and reduce cavitation
- Dual cylinder heads for more room for pre-stressed head bolts to help prevent coolant or combustion leaks
- Mid cylinder supports give circulating coolant more surface contact for better heat transfer and longer engine life

PTO
For maximum versatility and efficiency, MF 6400 Series tractors include independent PTO with 540 and 1000 rpm.
Economy Mode – The Economy Mode allows speed ratio changes at lower engine speeds, providing
maximum speed with reduced engine rpm, saving fuel in light-duty applications.

Transmission
The Dyna-6™ transmission offers six powershift gears that can be shifted up or down under full load within four selected main ranges. That translates into 24 total speeds in both forward and reverse to optimize performance and minimize fuel consumption.
Dyna-6™
The 24F X 24R Dyna–6 transmission comes standard on all the MF 6400 Series tractors. This smooth shifting transmission utilizes features such as speedmatching and AutoDrive. Not only does the Dyna-6 allow gear and range changing without using the clutch pedal, it also allows forward/reverse shuttle shift without using the clutch pedal.
- Range change is electro-hydraulically controlled, accomplished by the push of a button on the T-handle. This transmission will provide operators more in the way of efficiency and comfort.
- Powershift speed selection from the T-handle or the left handed shuttle lever.
- Full manual, partial, or fully automated speed selection with AutoDrive controller.
- Speedmatching automatically selects the correct powershift speed in each range for smooth acceleration.
- AutoDrive allows the tractor to respoind to changing field conditions by upshifting or downshifting depending on load.
- Gear and range changing without using the clutch pedal.
- Clutchless forward/reverse powershuttling.

Hydraulics
Closed center pressure flow compensated system provides 29 gpm of total flow. Time and Flow is controlled on two electro-hydraulic valves with the remote valve management system (RSM) joystick option.
- Standard three hydraulic remotes, power beyond circuits, and load sensing lines to fit a wide range of applications.
- Optional Remote Valve Management System (RMS) comprised of an armrest mounted joystick that controls two electro-hydraulic proportional spool valves. This adds comfort and convenience to the operation.
- Dot Matrix screen adds functionality to the Remote Valve Management System (RMS) by allowing the time and flow to be controlled. No longer does the operator have to hold valves and wait to lift the implement. With Dot Matrix, a simple bump of the joystick in the desired direction will do it automatically.

Operator's Area
The ultimate in comfort, convenience, visibility and quiet. Enjoy the view within the generous 61-square foot cab with the industries quietest cab with a ration of just 71 decibels.
The MF 6400 cab has been designed to be the quietest cab in the industry, with a rating of 71 decibels. From the comfort of a highly efficient cooling and heating system to the industry leading visibility, nothing has been overlooked in the quest to offer farmers what they really need and want.
Just a few features of the cab include:
- A tractor systems monitor with indicator lights on a tractor schematic to tell you when a tractor system is engaged or maintenance is needed
- Digital readouts for exact data on PTO speed, theoretical forward ground speed, engine rpm, and engine hours
- Easy to read, easy to reach instruments with ergonomically designed console
- 61-square feet of visibility

3-Point Hitch
Electronic 3-point hitch control offers a choice of "draft-sensing mode" for quick response to changing field conditions, or "position-control mode" for maintaining a preset height or depth.
The Massey 6400 Series feature an Electronic Lift Control (ELC) 3-point hitch which offers a choice of "draft-sensing mode" for quick response to changing field conditions, or "position-control mode" for maintaining a preset height or depth. Depending on conditions, the 6400 can be set to furnish quick response to changing conditions or maintain a specified depth for implements such as a rear mounted blade.
Other features that make for quick hook-ups:
- Telescopic Lower Links for large mounted implements
- Telescopic Sway Links control side to side movement on all implements - 6465, 6475, 6480
- Adjustable Lift Arms for quick height adjustment
- 6485, 6490, 6497 and 6499 have rub blocks
The Massey Ferguson ILS (Integrated Linkage System) option offers a fully integrated front linkage and PTO system. Integrated into the tractor mainframe for greater strength and more compact profile, the front 3-point hitch provides 8,800 lbs. (4,000 kg) of lift capacity, which allows it to handle cultivators, plows, fertilizer tanks, etc.
